How does the conflict testing process work?

Conflict testing is a debugging process used to identify the source of the issue impacting your site. The standard process involves the sequenced deactivation, reactivation and testing of each active plugin, and combinations of plugins, used on your site until the conflict source is identified and diagnosed. Potential theme-related conflict causes are also investigated, along with any other front-end and back-end code factors, plus potential site environment causes.

Once the test has been conducted, we will provide you with the conflict test report detailing the findings and the next steps.

Sometimes a conflict can take longer than the allocated time to diagnose. If your site has up to the ten plugins that are covered within the standard conflict testing package, we will provide you with a complimentary additional hour. If we are still unable to diagnose the issue, we will discuss additional options with you.

What does the conflict testing package cover & involve?

The standard USD $150 conflict test covers testing a site with up to ten plugins and the site theme. If your site has more than ten plugins, we’ll prioritize the plugins to test, based on the greatest likelihood of conflict cause or provide options for additional work.

To avoid disruptions to a live site, we look to conduct the conflict test on an existing staging environment. If an existing staging environment doesn’t exist, but you’re able to create one, then we’ll ask you to create a staging environment. If you’re not able to, or your host doesn’t offer this capability, then we can assist with creating a staging environment, or a local version, for an additional cost.
